Maeve Ryan has been practicing yoga for 12 years.
In 2000, Maeve attended her first yoga class at Red Pine Yoga Studio in Peru, CT as a way to strengthen and tone the body. Eight years later, she had her first “yoga epiphany” during savasana. That experience prompted her to dedicate herself fully to the practice of meditation and yoga as well as delve deeper into the emotional side of yoga. In turn, Maeve was not only able to heal the physical pain associated with hypertension and Lyme disease, but also the emotional pain that stemmed from a broken heart.
Maeve has studied various forms of yoga including: hatha, vinyasa, power, and kundalini. She is a certified Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at West Hartford Yoga.
Maeve’s teachers have included: Kathryn Budig, Seane Corn, Raphael Cushnir, Ellen Heed, Judith Orloff, Sarah Powers, Shiva Rea, Barbara Ruzansky, Sharon Salzberg, David Swenson, and MC Yogi.
Maeve has taught at Lady of America (Windsor, CT), UConn Women’s Center (Storrs, CT) and The GYM (Bloomfield, CT). She currently teaches yoga at Sacred Rivers Yoga (Glastonbury, CT), and Rasa Yoga Studio (West Hartford, CT). She also leads workshops on how to achieve emotional balance.
